Why did I become a real estate professional? I am a third generation Cookeville TN real estate professional, following my grandfather and father. I grew up in Franklin, TN, and spent a lot of time growing up in the Upper Cumberland area with family and on Center Hill Lake. I loved it it here. When my father commented that marketing skills were important to listing agents, I made my move and never looked back.
What is a typical day for a REALTOR? There is no typical day: I answer market questions. Work with clients preparing to sell. Coach buyers through offer negotiation. Introduce newcomers to our area. Answer questions about hair stylists, vets, auto repair shops, physicians, home repair specialists, etc. Help clients through home inspection reports. Talk with lenders about rates and trends. Spend time on community events and issues. Meet prospective clients' great dogs and cats!
What did I do before I began at American Way Real Estate? I became a REALTOR in 2002 after spending 25 years in marketing and communications. I graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville in journalism, worked in Nashville's WSMV Ch 4 newsroom, handled corporate communications on Music Row and directed marketing efforts in several industries. I use negotiating, creative, and research skills learned during those years for my clients today.
Current And Past Community Involvement
How do I spend my spare time? I read whenever possible. Every UT football game goes on my calendar in June. I decompress with my own animals or animals who need my help. And I love to grab my camera and hit the road to hike the woods, bluffs, and trails throughout the area.
