I’m excited that Cookeville TN was just named top American college town, beating a long list of great towns.  Number 14 is Knoxville - home of my alma mater the University of Tennessee.  Number 11 is Nashville, my old stomping ground and home to a long list of strong universities.  Murfreesboro, home of Middle Tennessee State University, is number 5. And Memphis, home to several top schools, is number 4.

At the risk of sounding like I did as a jr. high cheerleader, Cookeville  IS a great place to live. A favorite buyer dubbed Cookeville “Boulder East” soon after arriving. TN Tech University is a cornerstone. But we have others.  Artists of all mediums are scattered around the surrounding hills. National, state, and local parks and lakes abound. We’re home to many interesting local manufacturers and companies. A long list of wonderful restaurants of all kinds sweetens the pot.

Who else made the list? Who didn’t? Check the link. Then plan your trip to Cookeville and drop in and have a cup of coffee with me.
