Yesterday's meeting with a new customer was full of good questions and discussions about buying a first home. A slight look of concern accompanied the question about whether or not I could help with a home listed by another REALTOR or company. Concern disappeared when I said "Yes".
Most parts of the country today practice what is called in our industry "co-brokerage". No one knows who will buy which property. Internet real estate sites are based on this. National Association of REALTORS surveys show that over 89% of buyers research property using mobile devices before calling a REALTOR. Buyers typically assemble a list of properties listed by a list of REALTORS.
This new customer was referred by a family member I enjoyed helping several years ago and wanted my help as well. Relief was obvious when I explained how I work with others and how we all work together to match buyers and property across the area.
